Technical/ Design Manager

Job Description

• To ensure technical compliance and enhance overall service provided by the client
• To ensure business remains competitive through correct product selection as well as continuing to maintain high installation standards
• Oversee all technical aspects of installation such as regular site inspections
• Working with Contracts managers to ensure installation complies to the specification
• Provide the initial design for D and B projects for tender purpose
• Advise estimating department on technical compliance
• Co-ordinate client and the design team on D and B projects
• Work with the buying department to ensure correct product supply and technical submissions to client
• Review new products coming to market
• Attend pre start meetings to demonstrate technical abilities and professional ability
• Review and appraise quotations received, comment on comparison and compliance with specification and drawing requirements
• Produce project plan schedules for finalised selections

Required Experience/ Skills

• High knowledge of EC design, control and system commissioning- CHP, ASHP, Ambient Loops, GSHP
• Have worked with ESCO or on ESCO projects and understand system controls- heating infrastructure, low network temperatures
• CIBSE regs up to date knowledge
• Able to spot mistake and errors on design consultant drawings without supervision
• Provide quality check on 3^rd party consultant drawings
• Manage team of intermediate and senior engineers
• Provide technical advice to operation team
• Provide value engineering support to pre-construction team
• Strong residential and commercial experience
