Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Salary: £30,000 – £60,000 (Plus additional company benefits)

A well respected Electrical Sub-Contractor have tasked me with finding an Electrical Design Engineer due rapid business growth. As well as, a strong pipeline of design & build residential & mixed-use projects in London with a tier one Principal Contractor.
My client is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their Senior Design team to manage the increasing workload. Said individual will need a minimum of one year’s experience with ideally an M&E or electrical sub-contractor. However, they would consider Engineers from a design consultancy background.

Responsibilities/ Skills & Experience
- Provide support as part of a team, on larger projects.
- Appraisal and interpretation of the client’s requirements.
- Have an awareness of cost implications within design.
- Effectively deal with design issues and minimise their effect.
- Ability to design systems in the form of calculations, equipment selection and process operation.
- Liaising with internal and external designers, customers and in-house project teams.
- Ability to design systems in the form of schematics, calculations, equipment selection, detailed drawings.
- General electrical design activities for the installation of the full electrical packages on projects.
- Ensure engineering designs are completed to planned timescales.
- Reading design specifications and technical drawings to inform design.
- Evaluating technical specifications in the tender documentation packages and reviewing risks and implications of the requirements.
- Providing engineering and technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analysing and resolving project challenges.
- Previous experience as an electrical background working with an M&E or Electrical sub-contractor or Consultancy.
- HNC/HND or equivalent minimum; BSc, BEng or equivalent desired.
- Good knowledge of electrical design software (eplan or similar).
- Knowledge and understanding of international and UK electrical standards.
