Technical Operations Manager – Building Maintenance

Job

A Technical Operations Manager (Building Maintenance) is required by a leading Building Services provider, to take ownership of the maintenance contract for a global banking HQ.

This is a high-profile position on a blue-chip critical banking account, where you will lead a team of approximately 30 engineers, supervisors, managers, and support staff to effectively deliver the building maintenance in line with service level agreements. You will report directly to the Global Head of Engineering of the account.

You will be working for a leading facility and building maintenance service provider, based in the City of London. They are a globally established company with an impressive portfolio of blue-chip, corporate clients as well as across several other sectors.

Accountabilities:

  • Managing a P&L budget; identifying opportunities for added value.
  • Act as the point of escalation for the client in the event of any issues/requests.
  • Responsible for delivery of planned and reactive maintenance in-line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide leadership for all employees on the contract.
  • Responsibility for all members of staff, ensuring all engineers are trained to an appropriate level and are performing to or above expectations.
  • Implementing an effective hiring policy to hire the best talent in an efficient manager.
  • Implementing an effective health and safety strategy and ensuring good compliance levels.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with the client and addressing any concerns appropriately.
  • Monitoring and overseeing subcontractors.

Experience and Requirements

  • You must have an electrical engineering background; either City & Guilds 18th Edition or NVQ Level 2 & 3.
  • HV qualifications and operational experience is preferred.
  • Experience within commercial, critical environments required.
  • You will have a very strong all-around technical knowledge and compliance record.
  • Previous Management experience is required.
  • You will have successfully managed P&L budgets.
  • Managed a large team on a flagship static site.

Depending on experience this job will pay a basic salary between £65,000 – £75,000 and comes with a generous package.
